뉴캐슬 유나이티드가 마틴 마크(Martin Mark)를 1군 세트피스 코치로 선임했다고 발표했습니다.

마크 코치는 덴마크 출신으로, 모국인 FC 미트윌란에서 3년 반 동안 세트피스 코치로 재직했습니다. 31세의 마크 코치는 토마스 토마스베르그 감독 체제에서 혁신적인 세트피스 전략을 구현하여 인상적인 결과를 이끌어냈습니다.

FC 미트윌란은 2023/24 시즌 덴마크 수페르리가 우승을 차지했으며, 2024/25 시즌에도 정규 리그 1위를 기록했습니다. 가장 최근 시즌에는 리그 64골 중 27골을 세트피스에서 득점하며 그 효과를 입증했습니다. 또한, 지난 시즌 UEFA 유로파리그 녹아웃 스테이지에 진출하기도 했습니다.

과거 FC 미트윌란과 올보르 BK 유소년팀을 코치했던 마크 코치는 오는 7월 19일 토요일 셀틱과의 프리시즌 첫 친선 경기를 앞두고 에디 하우 감독과 코칭 스태프에 합류할 예정입니다.

Martin joins the Magpies from FC Midtjylland in his native Denmark, where he spent three-and-a-half years in a similar role.

The 31-year-old implemented an innovative set-piece strategy that has yielded impressive results under head coach Thomas Thomasberg.

FC Midtjylland won the 2023/24 Danish Superliga title and finished top of the regular season table once again in 2024/25, with 27 of their 64 league goals scored from set pieces during the most recent campaign.

The Danish side also reached the UEFA Europa League knock-out stages last season.

Martin, who also previously coached FC Midtjylland and Aalborg BK at youth level, will now link up with Eddie Howe and his coaching team in time for the Magpies’ first pre-season friendly away to Celtic on Saturday 19th July.
